Visionaire VA-10 Vantage
The Vantage light jet is from the brain of Burt Rutan’s Scaled Composites. The aircraft has engine intakes on top of the fuselage and wings with a negative sweepback, but an standard tail and only one engine.
The Vantage did not pass the proof-of-concept phase, although the design was purchased by Evation, who was to use it as the basis for the twin-engined EV-20 Vantage Jet design. This ended up in nothing. Later VisionAire Jets was established to resurrect the design but this has failed so far.
Confusion possible with
Scaled Composites V-Jet II
As this aircraft was also designed by Scaled Composites, before the Vantage, it has commonalities with that aircraft. This includes the air intakes on top of the fuselage and the foreward swept wings. The V-Jet has two engines though and a butterfly tail.
